Free browser-based device tests

DeviceDIY offers quick checks for common problems before online meetings, remote interviews, calls and everyday use. Choose a test, follow the instructions and check whether your browser receives the expected input. Hardware tests can help you narrow down an issue but cannot guarantee that every device component is fault-free.

How online device tests work

Camera and microphone tools ask for browser permission before starting. The keyboard, mouse and touchscreen tests detect events received by the page. Speaker tests generate audio, while the screen test displays solid colours for visual inspection. No account or software installation is needed.

Are DeviceDIY tests really free?

Yes. The device tools are free to use in a compatible browser, with no account or installation required.

Can a website tell me my hardware is definitely working?

DeviceDIY can verify browser events, video and microphone input where supported, and play test tones for you to confirm. It cannot certify every hardware component or third-party application.

Does DeviceDIY upload my camera or microphone data?

The included tests run locally and do not upload camera frames or microphone recordings to DeviceDIY. Read the privacy page for limitations and hosting considerations.
