Understand your device. Get back to what matters.
DeviceDIY is a collection of free browser-based tools for checking whether your camera, microphone, speakers, keyboard, mouse, screen and touchscreen respond as expected.
Why we built these tools
A camera that will not start, a silent microphone or a key that does not respond can interrupt a meeting, class or everyday task. Our tools give you a simple first check and practical steps to try next.
How to use your results
DeviceDIY reports what your browser can observe. A live camera stream means the browser received video; a microphone level means it detected audio input. You must judge image clarity, confirm speaker playback and inspect display defects visually. No browser test can certify hardware condition or rule out every operating-system or application problem.
Our principles
- No account or app installation is needed.
- Camera and microphone streams are processed locally within the browser during these tests.
- Test limitations are stated, rather than hidden behind unsupported pass/fail claims.
- We publish practical help and do not promise that a passing browser test guarantees a video call will work.
