Understanding results

If button highlights change and axes respond smoothly, your browser is receiving controller input. This does not guarantee correct response in every game or application.

How to use this test

  1. Connect a controller by USB or Bluetooth, then press a button.
  2. Select Detect controllers. Some browsers require a button press before exposing a controller.
  3. Press each button and move the analogue sticks while watching live values.
  4. If nothing appears, try another supported browser, reconnect the controller or test it in your operating system.

What this can and cannot prove

A browser sees only controllers exposed through the Gamepad API. Reported button and axis values may be remapped by the browser; tests do not prove Bluetooth battery health, hardware latency or compatibility with a particular game.

Compare results with your operating-system diagnostics or a second device when a fault is suspected.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my controller not appear?

Press a controller button, ensure the browser window has focus and confirm your device supports the Gamepad API.

Are stick values exact calibration readings?

No. Browser-normalised values help inspect direction and drift, but are not a lab calibration result.

Does DeviceDIY upload controller data?

No. This test reads controller events inside the browser and does not transmit your input history.
